My landlady is terrible. Prior to signing the lease she makes it seem like her husband keeps the place well. “We’re here all the time, and please, if you have any questions at all just email or text me and I’ll respond asap. I want to be as much help to you as possible.”
Post signing the lease and getting paid she shows her true colors. First she locks her son (who is in 4th grade) in my apartment as a “joke” and scolded him severely when it upset him. Now whenever I ask her a question she tells me to ask another tenant or have them do it for me. She doesn’t care and simply can’t be bothered, especially for a 25 year old undergraduate. The hedges along the walkway are overgrown, so her and her husband keeping the place well is BS. (Thats one of the many examples.) Additionally, today she showed that she will fail to hold up her side of the lease. It clearly states that she is to tell me 24 hours in advance when she, her husband, or somebody they hire will be in my apartment. Today at 9:04am I receive a text from her that “The building inspector will be in the building at 9:15am. Have your place clean and new working batteries in your smoke detector.” What. I’m moving in on Monday, so I’m hoping this gets better and easier.
This woman seriously has mental issues and should not be a landlady. I have no idea why or how she is. Ugh.
